Head of the Charles
One of the grand fall traditions in Boston (aside from watching the Red Sox falter) is the annual Head of the Charles rowing festival. The race used to hold the title of "The World's Largest Single-Day Regatta", but alas, a couple of years ago they expanded it to fill two days, so now it is only the n-th largest two-day regatta. On the plus side, extending the race to cover two days imrpoves the odds that there will be good weather for one of the days. I went to watch on Sunday morning, when the sun finally came out.
